Essential Oil Know-How

I LOVE this guide. I actually saved the picture & printed it out to have it on-hand.

I also purchased The Healing Herbal Bible by Jade Britton. Which is a great started book, it goes into the different body systems & herbal treatments help. There is a herbal directory as well.

BEFORE divulging into the realm of Essential Oils there are a few things you NEED to know to stay safe. Yes, I said safe! With Pinterest now a days people think they can believe everything they read on it. Well, it is NOT true.

This chart is very helpful when getting started. I tried to find Oils with multiple purposes. My first purchase was Lavender Oil. I also bought it local from a lady who does all of them out of her house. I would strongly recommend reading labels of the bottles. Not all Essential Oils are created equal...

My next oil purchase was Tea Tree & Sweet Orange. Both of which were purchased for cleaning purposes & shampoo (for hubby). I also found it cheaper to buy 2oz bottles (anywhere $10-$14) then buying a 1/2 oz for $6-$12. So keep that in mind as well.

As far as safety, I would strongly recommend educating yourself on Essential Oils. There are so many recipes out there, not all are correct. For example, did you know that some oils can actually be photosensitive?
Yes, citrus oil can actually burn your skin in the sunlight!! When reading/searching for DIY recipes, PLEASE read comments that people have written & do even more research on your own. Yes, even on my blog I will be taking advice from others that know more then I do.

  1. I pinned this very same guide. I love using essential oils in any way I can. Around the house, for ailments, skin treatments, etc.
